Due scosse di terremoto di magnitudo 3.3 e 3.1 sono state registrate alle 2.44 e alle 2:54 nel nordest della Sicilia, in provincia di Catania.
Secondo i rilevamenti dell'Istituto nazionale di geofisica e vulcanologia (Ingv), il sisma ha avuto ipocentro a meno di 1 km di profondità ed epicentro 5 km a sudovest di Linguaglossa.
Non si hanno segnalazioni di danni a persone o cose.
