Annunciati ufficialmente i candidati della 66° edizione dei Grammy. Taylor Swift (che ha recentemente riscosso un enorme successo con la versione ri-registrata del suo album del 1989), sembrerebbe la favorita tra i contendenti 2024, dato che in passato ha già ottenuto riconoscimenti nelle ambite categorie “Album dell'anno” e “Disco dell'anno” e che, insieme a SZA, ha conquistato il maggior numero di candidature per la prossima edizione.
Molte nomination anche per Phoebe Bridgers, Victoria Monét, Jon Batiste, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish e Olivia Rodrigo.
La cerimonia dei Grammy Awards si terrà il 4 febbraio alla Crypto Arena di Los Angeles e la Recording Academy ha annunciato che lo show andrà in onda in diretta Coast-to-Coast e quindi gli spettatori della costa occidentale non dovranno più attendere le tre ore di ritardo canoniche. Lo spettacolo inizierà alle 20:30 e terminerà alle 23:30 e andrà in onda su CBS e sarà trasmesso in streaming su Paramount+.
Le votazioni finali dei Grammy Awards 2024 termineranno il 4 gennaio e la Recording Academy ha esteso gli inviti a più di 2800 nuovi membri votanti, cosa che impatta anche sulla composizione dell’Academy, che attualmente conta più di 11mila membri votanti.
Ancora non si sa il nome del “padrone di casa” della cerimonia. A condurre i Grammy Awards negli ultimi anni è stato Trevor Noah che - se dovesse ottenere nuovamente l’incarico - diventerebbe la quinta persona ad aver condotto i premi quattro o più volte. Il record di conduzione è di Andy Williams: sette anni (1971-1977), seguito da John Denver che ha presentato per sei edizioni (1978-79 e poi dal 1982 al 1985). E ancora LL Cool J con cinque edizioni (2012-2016) e infine Garry Shandling (1990-91 e 1993-94).
